BLEPHAROPLASTY
WHAT IS A BLEPHAROPLASTY ?
Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery, is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the eyelids. Surgery can be performed on the upper lids, lower lids or both.
When to Consider
Our eyelids are home to the thinnest, most delicate skin on our bodies, so it’s no surprise that signs of aging will begin to appear early around our eyes. Whether you want to improve your appearance or are experiencing functional problems with your eyelids, eyelid surgery can rejuvenate the area surrounding your eyes.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals with no medical conditions that can impair healing
- 2 Nonsmokers
- 3 Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations
- 4 Individuals without serious eye conditions
Recovery
During your eyelid surgery recovery, lubricating ointment and cold compresses may be applied, and in some cases, your eyes may be loosely covered with gauze, after your procedure is completed. Most patients are presentable to the public in 10-14 days. However, it may take a few months before final healing is completed. As every patient heals a little differently, your cosmetic surgeon will give you detailed instructions for aftercare and returning to activity.
Results
With a healthy lifestyle and good skincare habits, the results of cosmetic eyelid surgery should last for years. With the excess, sagging skin is gone, and your eyes will always look better refreshed and more youthful than they would have without an eyelid lift. Likewise, if you have lower eyelid surgery, those puffy eye bags will be gone.

FACELIFT
WHAT IS A FACELIFT?
A facelift, or rhytidectomy, surgery lifts and firms sagging facial tissues to restore a more naturally youthful facial appearance. It’s often said that having a facelift works to “turn back the clock,” helping a patient look like a younger version of him or herself. By removing excess, sagging skin, smoothing deep folds, and lifting and tightening the deep facial tissues, facelift surgery can help a patient look not just younger, but simply “better.”
When to Consider
As we age, skin begins to lose elasticity, and facial tissues lose volume. Eventually, this results in “jowls” on the lower face, deep wrinkles, and loose skin on the neck. While this is a natural part of growing older, patients who are bothered by these signs of aging may find a facelift to be a good solution.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals who do not have medical conditions that impair healing
- 2 Nonsmokers
- 3 Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations
Recovery
A facelift is a complex procedure requiring exceptional surgical skill, but the recovery process is surprisingly quick for most patients. Patients typically return to normal daily activities after about 2 weeks (strenuous exercise will need to wait about 4 weeks) following a standard facelift, and these time frames are normally even shorter after a mini facelift. As every patient heals a little differently, your cosmetic surgeon will give you detailed instructions for aftercare and returning to activity.
Results
A facelift is designed to achieve results that not only look natural now but will also age naturally with you. While nothing can stop the normal aging process, after a facelift you should always look years younger than you would have without the surgery.

BROW LIFT
WHAT IS A BROW LIFT?
A brow lift, also commonly called a forehead lift, rejuvenates the face above the eyes to restore a more refreshed appearance that better reflects a patient’s natural vibrance.
When to Consider
The problem with an aging forehead is the effect it has on our facial expressions—a sagging, heavily furrowed brow can cause us to look constantly tired, worried or even angry. By removing excess sagging, skin on the forehead and repositioning the underlying muscles and tissues, a brow lift can correct a heavy, sagging brow, eliminate deep furrows, and restore a smoother, more youthful contour to the upper one-third of the face.
Candidates
- 1 Age 30 to 65 (or older if you are healthy)
- 2 Nonsmokers
- 3 Desires cosmetic improvement in facial features
Recovery
Brow lift surgery is an outpatient procedure, performed using general anesthesia or intravenous sedation with local anesthesia. Your incisions may be closed with sutures or staples, which are typically removed about 1 week after surgery. Patients typically experience very little pain after a brow lift, but it’s common to feel slight discomfort as well as a sensation of tightness throughout the forehead. Swelling and bruising are most common during the first 10 days or so after surgery, and are mostly resolved after about 2 weeks.
Results
The improvements made with brow lift surgery will last for many years to come. However, nothing can stop the normal aging process and eventually, your forehead tissues will begin to settle with time and gravity. You can help keep your results looking their best by living a healthy lifestyle.

FACETITE
WHAT IS A FACETITE ?
FaceTite is a minimally invasive procedure that is the next best alternative to facelifts. FaceTite’s advanced contouring system can reshape and correct small areas on the patent’s face while tightening the skin, making them feel years younger without the downtime of a Facelift.
When to Consider
If you are looking for a less invasive procedure than a facelift to achieve a more youthful appearance, FaceTite is the best alternative for you. FaceTite is also great for clients who wish to remove unwanted fat in the lower area of the face to achieve a more prominent jawline.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals
- 2 Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations
Recovery
Three incisions are made underneath the jawline and are incredibly small and discreet. Patients can go home after the procedure and are required to wear a compression garment for five days.
Results
Visible results can be seen within a few weeks with best results noticeable after 3-6 months.

CHIN AUGMENTATION
WHAT IS CHIN AUGMENTATION?
Chin enhancement surgery, also called genioplasty, improves contours of the chin, neck and jawline. Typically, surgery involves placement of an implant around a patient’s existing chin bone to augment the size and shape of the chin and achieve a more naturally attractive balance between facial features.
When to Consider
A well-defined jawline structure is the cornerstone of a balanced attractive face, male or female. If you are bothered by your recessed or “weak” chin, or you feel your facial features lack proportion, chin implant surgery can help you feel more confident in your appearance.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals from ages 18 to 65+
- 2 Nonsmokers
- 3 Individuals who have weak, receding or asymmetrical chins but whose teeth are normally aligned
Recovery
Most chin augmentation patients experience relatively little downtime and are back to desk work and most other daily activities within 7 days after surgery. Discomfort is typically minimal and easily controlled with pain medication or cold compresses. Strenuous activity can typically be resumed within 3 to 4 weeks after chin augmentation. It is important to follow your cosmetic surgeon’s specific instructions during recovery to ensure you heal well and your results look great as soon as possible.
Results
Chin implants are very strong, durable medical devices and are intended to be permanent. Results look close to final within one month after surgery and are considered final after about 3 months when residual swelling has subsided.

NECK JOWL LIPOSCULPTING
WHAT IS NECK JOWL LIPOSCULPTING?
Neck Jowl Liposculpting is a cosmetic procedure aimed at improving the appearance of the neck and jawline. It involves the removal of excess fat from the neck and jaw area through liposuction. This procedure helps to redefine the contours of the neck and jawline, reducing the appearance of sagging skin, double chin, or "jowls," resulting in a more youthful and defined neck and jawline profile.
When to Consider
Consider neck jawline liposculpting if you're bothered by excess fat under the chin or in the neck area, seeking a more defined jawline and neck contour.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals with no medical conditions that can impair healing
- 2 Nonsmokers
- 3 Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations
Recovery
The recovery period for neck jawline liposculpting typically involves mild swelling, bruising, and discomfort for about 1-2 weeks. Patients are often advised to wear a compression garment to support the area and minimize swelling. Most individuals can return to work and normal activities within a few days, but strenuous exercise should be avoided for a few weeks. Full results are usually visible within a few months as swelling subsides.
Results
The results of neck jawline liposculpting typically include a more defined jawline and neck contour, reduction of excess fat under the chin, and improved overall facial profile. This procedure can help create a more youthful and balanced appearance by refining the contours of the neck and jawline, resulting in increased confidence and satisfaction with one's appearance.

EAR RESHAPING
WHAT IS EAR RESHAPING?
Ear surgery, also known as otoplasty, can improve the shape, position or proportion of the ear. A defect in the ear structure that is present at birth or that becomes apparent with development can be corrected by otoplasty. This procedure can also treat misshapen ears caused by injury.
When to Consider
Otoplasty creates a more natural shape while bringing balance and proportion to the ears and face. Correction of even minor deformities can have profound benefits to appearance and self-esteem. If protruding or disfigured ears bother you or your child, you may consider plastic surgery.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals who do not have medical conditions that impair healing
- 2 Nonsmokers
- 3 Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectation
Recovery
Discomfort immediately following ear surgery is normal and can be controlled with pain medication. There may be an itchy feeling under bandages. It’s essential that bandages remain intact and are not removed for any reason. Failure to do so may result in loss of some of the correction and may require a secondary surgery.
Results
Ear surgery offers almost immediate results in cases of protruding ears, visible when the dressings that support the new shape of the ear during initial phases of healing are removed. With the ear permanently positioned closer to the head, surgical scars are either hidden behind the ear or well hidden within the natural creases of the ear.

RHINOPLASTY
WHAT IS A RHINOPLASTY ?
Blepharoplasty, also known as nose reshaping, improves the shape, size, and symmetry of a person’s nose, bringing it into better proportion with the rest of the face. With the help of Sturm Cosmetic surgeons, the nose can be reshaped and refined to enhance a patient's natural beauty.
When to Consider
The goals of nose reshaping are as individual as the patients who choose to have rhinoplasty. By reshaping the nasal structures, including bone, cartilage, and skin, a cosmetic surgeon will explain to you what is possible and help you achieve a nose that looks natural with your unique features.
Candidates
- 1 Age 18 to 65 (or older if you are healthy)
- 2 Nonsmokers
- 3 Desires nasal reshaping and improved function/breathing
Recovery
After your procedure, your nose may be placed in a splint for support. You may also go home with packing inside your nostrils. Packing is typically removed within the first week after rhinoplasty. Your cosmetic surgeon will prescribe pain medication to help minimize discomfort during your initial recovery. Most patients feel ready to return to work or school after 1 or 2 weeks, depending on the level of activity required. Typically after 3 weeks, most normal non-contact activities can be resumed.
Results
The results of rhinoplasty surgery are permanent. While this means your new nose will be with you for a lifetime, it also makes it that much more important to choose a qualified cosmetic surgeon whom you can trust to deliver the results you desire.

LIP LIFT
WHAT IS A LIP LIFT ?
A Lip Lift shortens the space between the nose and the top of the lip. We make a small incision just below the nose to gently “pull up” the upper lip creating the appearance of a larger pout. Unlike Dermal Fillers and Botox, this is a permanent procedure.
When to Consider
Lip Lifts are a great option for those who want to reduce the space in between their lips and nose.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals
- 2 Nonsmokers
Recovery
Patients should avoid opening their mouths too wide or sleeping on their face up to two weeks after surgery. Keep incisions clean and brush your teeth carefully.
Results
Lip Lift procedures take approximately six weeks to see the final results.

FACIAL FAT TRANSFER
WHAT IS A FACIAL FAT TRANSFER?
Facial Fat Transfer, also known as Fat Grafting or Fat Injection, enhances the face and body lacking in volume by injecting excess fat collected from another area of the body, such as the other thighs, hips, or stomach to create an overall more youthful appearance. This safe, long-lasting, well-tolerated procedure produces natural-looking results.
When to Consider
As we age, the face loses volume, which gives a hollow look to the cheeks and mid face. A facial fat transfer works to restore an overall more youthful appearance by putting volume back in those areas that have sunken or creased with the normal aging process.
Candidates
- 1 Age 35 to 65 (or older if you are healthy)
- 2 Nonsmokers
- 3 Desires more youthful face
Recovery
Swelling usually diminishes from the third day on, and social activities can be restarted after about one week, sometimes with the help of some make-up.
Results
Correction of deep wrinkles and folds. Correction of the treated irregularities and dents. Volume augmentation of the treated areas such as cheekbones, cheeks, and the chin. Improved quality of the overlying skin can be a positive side effect. After the body absorbs a percentage of the fat (between 20 and 50%) the correction can be considered permanent.

BREAST AUGMENTATION
WHAT IS BREAST AUGMENTATION?
Breast augmentation, also known as augmentation mammoplasty, breast enlargement or breast implants, is a cosmetic surgery procedure to increase breast size and enhance breast shape, typically through the placement of silicone or saline breast implants. From Sturm Cosmetic’s perspective, the ultimate goal of breast augmentation is to enhance a patient’s natural proportions and create a more symmetrical, aesthetically pleasing breast profile.
When to Consider
There is no “typical” breast augmentation patient, and women choose to have the procedure for many different reasons. Breast augmentation is one of the most effective procedures to correct noticeable breast asymmetry, and breast implants can be used to help correct tuberous breast deformities.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals who do not have medical conditions that impair healing
- 2 Nonsmokers
- 3 Individuals with realistic expectations
- 4 Individuals who are lost shape and volume after pregnancy, weight loss or with aging
Recovery
Breast augmentation is an outpatient procedure, typically performed using general anesthesia. You can expect to walk around on your own a few hours after surgery. You may feel sore the first week or so, and you will need to limit strenuous exercise for about 2-4 weeks. You may be asked to wear a supportive surgical bra or sports bra for a certain period of time after breast augmentation—it’s crucial to follow your cosmetic surgeon’s instructions to ensure you heal optimally.
Results
Breast augmentation is a safe surgery with long-lasting results and yields larger breasts right away, the final results may take a few weeks as the swelling subsides and the skin stretches. Some patients may need to wear a bandeau to help shape their breasts, especially if they have underlying asymmetry or very small breasts to start with. Incision lines may take several months, even a couple of years, to fade.

BREAST LIFT
WHAT IS A BREAST LIFT?
A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, raises the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. A breast lift can rejuvenate your figure with a breast profile that is more youthful and uplifted. A woman's breasts often change over time, losing their youthful shape and firmness.
When to Consider
A woman's breasts often change over time, losing their youthful shape and firmness. A breast lift can help restore changes and loss of skin elasticity from pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, aging, gravity, and heredity.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals from ages 18 to 65
- 2 Nonsmokers
- 3 Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations
Recovery
Breast lift surgery is typically performed as an outpatient procedure using general anesthesia or local anesthesia + intravenous sedation. You will be able to go home shortly after surgery to continue your recovery with your breasts bandaged or placed in a surgical bra. Your cosmetic surgeon will prescribe pain medication to help keep you comfortable. You will need to limit exercise other than walking for the first 2-6 weeks after a breast lift; your cosmetic surgeon will provide you with detailed instructions about when it is safe to resume any activity.
Results
The results of your breast lift surgery are immediately visible. Over time, post-surgical swelling will resolve and incision lines will fade. It’s important to understand that certain life events, such as future pregnancy or weight fluctuations can negatively affect your results.

BREAST REDUCTION
WHAT IS A BREAST REDUCTION
Breast reduction surgery, also referred to as reduction mammoplasty, reduces the size and improves the shape of the breasts, helping to create a more aesthetically pleasing breast contour that is better proportioned to a patient’s body. By removing excess breast tissue, fat, and sagging, stretched skin, a cosmetic surgeon can not only make the breasts smaller, lighter, and firmer, but also improve breast symmetry and eliminate sagging.
When to Consider
Having more beautiful breasts does not always mean having bigger breasts. It's all about shape and proportion, and Sturm Cosmetics can improve both using breast reduction techniques tailored to a patient's unique needs.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals from ages 18 to 65
- 2 Nonsmokers
- 3 You are bothered or limited by your large breasts
- 4 Realistic expectations
Recovery
Swelling, soreness, and tingling are typical after breast reduction, so your new smaller breasts may appear a little larger than you had expected while initial swelling is present. Additionally, the breasts often heal at a different rate, so you may notice some asymmetry during the first few months of your recovery. After about 2-3 months, your final results will be more or less in place and you can shop for new bras with confidence. However, you may notice subtle changes for the first 6 to 12 months.
Results
After breast reduction, you can expect to enjoy smaller, lighter breasts for a lifetime, so long as you maintain a stable weight and do not have any more children. If you are planning to have more children, Dr. Sturm can discuss your options, and help you weigh the pros and cons of having surgery now or waiting until you have finished having children.

ABDOMINOPLASTY
What is ABDOMINOPLASTY?
A tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, can help you improve your abdominal shape for years to come. A tummy tuck tightens and reshapes the abdominal area, helping to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing, slimmer overall appearance.
When to Consider
Having a flatter, firmer midsection can dramatically improve the way clothing fits and looks, helping you feel more confident and comfortable in your body. The decision to have any cosmetic procedure is personal, and patients choose to have tummy tucks for a variety of reasons, particularly those whose bodies have undergone dramatic changes from weight loss or pregnancy.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals from ages 25 to 65
- 2 Nonsmokers
- 3 Realistic expectations
- 4 You are bothered by the appearance of your abdomen
Recovery
The majority of tummy tucks can be performed as outpatient procedures, and patients go home a few hours after surgery. However, your cosmetic surgeon may require an overnight hospital stay after a more extensive tummy tuck so you can be safely monitored during the initial hours of your recovery. Because a tummy tuck involves surgery on the abdominal muscles, recovery after a tummy tuck takes more time than that for other procedures.
Results
The improvements made during a tummy tuck are meant to last—abdominal muscles will remain firmer and tighter and the excess skin will not return. However, future pregnancies or weight gain can negatively affect your results, causing the muscles or skin to stretch back out and become lax after returning to your normal weight.

BRACHIOPLASTY
WHAT IS Brachioplasty?
Brachioplasty, commonly known as an arm lift, is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to address sagging skin and excess fat in the upper arms. This surgical intervention involves the removal of redundant skin and fatty tissue, resulting in a more toned and sculpted appearance. Individuals who have experienced significant weight loss, aging, or genetic predisposition to flabby arms often opt for brachioplasty to improve the contour and definition of their arms. The surgery typically entails an incision along the inner arm, allowing the surgeon to excise excess tissue and reposition the remaining skin for a firmer look. Brachioplasty is sought by those seeking increased confidence in their arm aesthetics, providing a transformative solution to achieve more youthful and shapely upper arms. As with any surgical procedure, consultation with a qualified plastic surgeon is crucial to assess candidacy, discuss expectations, and ensure a personalized approach to meet the patient's aesthetic goals.
When to Consider
WHEN TO CONSIDER This cosmetic surgery is particularly suitable for individuals who have undergone significant weight loss, leading to loose or flabby arm skin. Aging and genetic factors can also contribute to the development of excess arm skin. It is important to consider this procedure when non-surgical options are insufficient, and consulting with a qualified plastic surgeon is crucial to determine if brachioplasty aligns with your aesthetic goals and overall health.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals
- 2 Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations
Recovery
Recovery from brachioplasty, or an arm lift, involves a period of healing and adjustment. After the procedure, patients may experience swelling, bruising, and some discomfort, which can be managed with prescribed medications. Wearing compression garments is often recommended to support the healing process and minimize swelling. It's advisable to avoid strenuous activities for several weeks to allow the arms to heal properly. Full recovery and the realization of the final results may take a few months, during which patients can gradually resume normal activities. Adhering to post-operative care instructions provided by the plastic surgeon is essential for a smooth recovery and optimal outcomes.
Results
Patients typically experience improved arm aesthetics, allowing for increased confidence and a more youthful look. While individual outcomes may vary, brachioplasty can significantly enhance the overall contour and definition of the arms, particularly for those who have undergone substantial weight loss or face genetic predisposition to excess arm skin. The results become more apparent as the initial swelling subsides, revealing a sculpted and rejuvenated arm profile.

WHAT IS A THIGH LIFT?
Thigh lift surgery also referred to as thighplasty, is an excellent way to achieve firmer and more attractive upper legs by reducing excess skin and fat, resulting in smoother skin and better-proportioned contours of the thighs and lower body.
When to Consider
If fitness and weight control efforts have not achieved your goals for a body that is firmer, more youthful-looking and more proportionate to your overall body image, a surgical lift may be right for you. Dr. Sturm will work with you to create a personalized surgical plan that suits your unique needs and goals so you can enjoy flawless legs.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals from ages 18 to 65
- 2 Nonsmokers
- 3 Individuals who desire to reduce the sagging or flabby appearance of the thighs.
Recovery
Swelling, bruising, pain and tightness after your procedure are common. Compression garments will need to be worn for a minimum of 6-8 weeks, sometimes longer for even better results. Dr. Packskamp will strongly encourage 14 days of downtime to recover. You will have lifting restrictions for 6 weeks.
Results
You may not be able to see the results of your thigh lift immediately since your legs will most likely be swollen, bruised, and covered by compression garments. As inflammation diminishes and your scars begin to fade, you should notice slimmer, younger-looking thighs with more attractive contours. It may take up to a year for your thighs to completely recover so you can see your full results.

LIPOSUCTION
WHAT IS LIPOSUCTION?
Liposuction is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to remove excess fat deposits from specific areas of the body, enhancing overall contours and proportions. During the procedure, a thin tube called a cannula is inserted through small incisions, and excess fat is suctioned out. Liposuction is commonly performed on areas such as the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, and arms to sculpt the body and create a more defined silhouette. It is important to note that liposuction is not a weight-loss method but rather a body contouring technique. The results are often long-lasting, providing individuals with a more streamlined and sculpted appearance in targeted areas.
When to Consider
Consider liposuction when you have localized areas of stubborn fat that are resistant to diet and exercise efforts. This cosmetic surgical procedure is ideal for individuals seeking body contouring and improved proportions, rather than significant weight loss. Liposuction can be a suitable option if you are generally in good health, have realistic expectations, and desire a more sculpted appearance in areas such as the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, or arms.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals
- 2 Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations
Recovery
Recovery from liposuction varies from person to person, but generally, individuals can expect some initial discomfort, swelling, and bruising after the procedure. It's advisable to take a few days off work or regular activities to allow the body to heal. Compression garments are often worn to minimize swelling and support the treated areas during the initial recovery period. While light activities can usually be resumed within a week, strenuous exercise should be avoided for a few weeks. Full recovery, with the final results becoming more apparent, may take several weeks to a few months. Following post-operative care instructions provided by the surgeon is crucial for a smooth and successful recovery process.
Results
After the initial recovery period, individuals often notice a more refined silhouette and improved body contours in the treated areas. While some swelling is expected initially, the final results become increasingly apparent as the body heals over the following weeks and months. Liposuction effectively targets localized fat deposits that are resistant to diet and exercise, providing individuals with a more streamlined and aesthetically pleasing appearance. It's important to maintain a healthy lifestyle to sustain the results of liposuction over the long term.

LOWER BODY LIFT
WHAT IS A LOWER BODY LIFT?
A lower body lift is a comprehensive procedure designed to address excess skin and fat in the lower torso and thighs. This surgery typically targets the abdomen, buttocks, and outer thighs, aiming to lift and tighten sagging tissues. It is often sought by individuals who have experienced significant weight loss or have loose skin due to aging and pregnancy. The procedure involves removing excess skin and fat, creating a more contoured and sculpted lower body appearance. A lower body lift is a transformative surgery that can enhance body proportions and restore a more youthful silhouette.
When to Consider
Consider a lower body lift when you are dealing with significant excess skin and fat in the lower torso and thighs, often resulting from substantial weight loss or aging. This procedure is suitable for individuals seeking comprehensive contouring and tightening of the abdomen, buttocks, and outer thighs. If sagging skin is affecting your body proportions and causing discomfort, a lower body lift may be a beneficial solution. It is important to consider this surgery when other non-surgical options may not provide the desired results.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals
- 2 Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations
Recovery
Recovery from a lower body lift in cosmetic surgery involves a period of healing and adjustment. Following the procedure, individuals may experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort, which can be managed with prescribed medications. Wearing compression garments is often recommended to support the healing process and minimize swelling. Most patients can return to light activities within a few weeks, but strenuous exercise should be avoided for a more extended period. Full recovery and the realization of the final results may take several months as the body adjusts and heals. Adhering to post-operative care instructions provided by the plastic surgeon is crucial for a smooth recovery and optimal outcomes.
Results
The results offer a more sculpted and contoured lower body appearance. Patients often experience improved body proportions and enhanced contours, particularly after significant weight loss or due to aging-related changes. The results become more noticeable as the initial swelling subsides, revealing a rejuvenated and aesthetically pleasing lower body. LABIAPLASTY
WHAT IS LABIAPLASTY?
Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that aims to decrease the size of the labia minora (inner tissues of the female genitalia or flaps of skin on both sides of the vaginal opening) to keep it flush with the labia majora (outer part of the female genitalia). This procedure involves different surgical techniques that are specific to each patient's concern. Labiaplasty does not use energy devices unlike other forms of vaginal rejuvenation. Dr. Sturm will work with each patient to determine the goals of the surgery.
When to Consider
Women who suffer from enlarged labia resulting from childbirth, aging, sexual activity and genetics may consider labiaplasty. The surgery can also improve vaginal hygiene, urinary tract infections, sexual activity, exercise and other physical activity.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals
- 2 Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations
Recovery
Avoid long showers and perform proper washing and drying techniques provided by your surgeon. Antibiotics should be taken to reduce pain and inflammation. Disengage from physical activity such as bike rides, running and exercise until you have been cleared by your surgeon. Do not indulge in sexual intercourse for at least four weeks after the surgery. Refrain from wearing yoga pants, tight underwear and other fitted clothing to avoid friction with the area of the wound. Following these will help you recover quicker and as expected.
Results
Labiaplasty has numerous cosmetic and functional benefits. Your vagina will have a more youthful appearance as it did prior to childbirth or aging. The reduction of the labia’s size will result in less discomfort from twisting and turning and give you more confidence while wearing tight clothing. The procedure can also benefit and improve your mental, emotional and sexual health.

FAT TRANSFER TO BUTTOCKS
WHAT IS A FAT TRANSFER TO THE BUTTOCKS?
Fat Transfers to the buttocks improve the contour, size, and/or shape of the buttocks. The most frequent methods for enlarging and reshaping your buttocks are fat grafting using your natural fatty tissue.
When to Consider
The shape and proportion of a person’s buttocks are largely determined by genetics; both your skeletal structure and how your body stores fat influence the appearance of the lower body. A fat transfer can help overcome the effects of genetics by reshaping the buttocks and surrounding areas, such as the hips, lower back, and thighs.
Candidates
- 1 Healthy individuals from ages 25 to 55
- 2 Nonsmokers
- 3 Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations
Recovery
You can expect swelling, bruising and some pain after your procedure. You will have compression garments that will need to be worn for a minimum of 6-8 weeks. We strongly encourage 7-10 days of downtime to recover. You will have lifting restrictions for a minimum of 1 week and will need to use a “booty pillow” for a minimum of 6 weeks for optimum results.
Results
Fat transfer results are meant to last for many years. Fat cells removed with liposuction will not return to the area, and fat cells that survive the transfer to the buttocks will remain for years to come. However, significant weight fluctuations can affect your results so, maintaining a stable weight keeps your results looking their best.
