Recovery

Recovery

Recovery
Brow lift surgery is an outpatient procedure, performed using general anesthesia or intravenous sedation with local anesthesia. Your incisions may be closed with sutures or staples, which are typically removed about 1 week after surgery. Patients typically experience very little pain after a brow lift, but it’s common to feel slight discomfort as well as a sensation of tightness throughout the forehead. Swelling and bruising are most common during the first 10 days or so after surgery, and are mostly resolved after about 2 weeks.
Results

What Is a Facial Fat Transfer?

This safe, long-lasting, well-tolerated procedure produces natural-looking results.
When to Consider

Recovery
Swelling usually diminishes from the third day on, and social activities can be restarted after about one week, sometimes with the help of some make-up.

Recovery
Immediately following treatment, your skin will be warm and may be slightly red and swollen, depending on your customized treatment settings. For lighter intensities, you can expect at least 4 days of “social downtime”. Most patients are back to full makeup routine around day 7. For higher intensity treatments, you may be closer to 10-14 days of “social downtime”, but your results will be more impressive after one treatment.
Results
The main advantage of CO2 laser resurfacing is that results are visible after one single treatment. Multiple sessions, usually three, are needed for best results if you choose to do a lower intensity resurfacing treatment. Recovery

Recovery
Discomfort immediately following ear surgery is normal and can be controlled with pain medication. There may be an itchy feeling under bandages. It’s essential that bandages remain intact and are not removed for any reason. Failure to do so may result in loss of some of the correction and may require a secondary surgery.
Results
Ear surgery offers almost immediate results in cases of protruding ears, visible when the dressings that support the new shape of the ear during initial phases of healing are removed. With the ear permanently positioned closer to the head, surgical scars are either hidden behind the ear or well hidden within the natural creases of the ear.

Recovery
Most chin augmentation patients experience relatively little downtime and are back to desk work and most other daily activities within 7 days after surgery. Discomfort is typically minimal and easily controlled with pain medication or cold compresses. Strenuous activity can typically be resumed within 3 to 4 weeks after chin augmentation. It is important to follow your cosmetic surgeon’s specific instructions during recovery to ensure you heal well and your results look great as soon as possible.
Results
Chin implants are very strong, durable medical devices and are intended to be permanent. Results look close to final within one month after surgery and are considered final after about 3 months when residual swelling has subsided.

Results
Following treatment, you will not see results immediately. This is expected, so do not worry that treatment hasn’t worked. Depending on the patient, product used, and area treated, final results are typically reached 3 to 7 days after initial treatments. If this is your first botulinum toxin treatment, your cosmetic surgeon may initially inject a more conservative amount and touch up the results during a follow-up treatment. You will be able to go back to your normal activities right after treatment, but you may be asked you to take the day off from exercise or other strenuous activity and to keep your head upright for the rest of the day. If this is your first lip filler treatment, Dr. Sturm may initially inject a more conservative amount and then schedule a follow-up appointment 2 weeks after your initial injection to assess your results and decide if a dose adjustment is needed for future filler appointments. Results
The plumping effects from lip filler treatments will vary depending on the patient, how many syringes are used and the product used, but results will typically last up to 12 months. To maintain your results, Dr. Sturm will simply repeat treatment, adjusting dosage and techniques as necessary to ensure optimal results. A lot of our patients like to come back around 8 or 9 months to retreat this lip area.

Some patients experience mild bruising and swelling, but these are temporary and should subside over the days following treatment. Depending on the product and the areas treated, you should be able to notice results immediately after receiving filler injections. Recovery
The majority of tummy tucks can be performed as outpatient procedures, and patients go home a few hours after surgery. However, your cosmetic surgeon may require an overnight hospital stay after a more extensive tummy tuck so you can be safely monitored during the initial hours of your recovery. Because a tummy tuck involves surgery on the abdominal muscles, recovery after a tummy tuck takes more time than that for other procedures.
Results
The improvements made during a tummy tuck are meant to last—abdominal muscles will remain firmer and tighter and the excess skin will not return. However, future pregnancies or weight gain can negatively affect your results, causing the muscles or skin to stretch back out and become lax after returning to your normal weight.

Recovery
Today’s advanced liposuction techniques are designed to minimize swelling, trauma and discomfort, and when the procedure is performed by a qualified cosmetic surgeon, recovery from liposuction can be remarkably quick. Many patients return to work just a few days after their procedures, depending on the physical requirements of their jobs and the extent of their procedures. Dr. Sturm may also give you a compression garment to wear for a few weeks following surgery. This helps to minimize swelling and encourage optimal skin contraction. What Is a Body Lift?

Results
You may not be able to see the results of your thigh lift immediately since your legs will most likely be swollen, bruised, and covered by compression garments. As inflammation diminishes and your scars begin to fade, you should notice slimmer, younger-looking thighs with more attractive contours. It may take up to a year for your thighs to completely recover so you can see your full results.
